Ahead of the explosive derby between two bitter rivals Pep Guardiola has come out to speak on what he is expecting from the game and from Cristiano Ronaldo as he rates him.
Guardiola accepts that City won’t have it easy against Ronaldo who he thinks is ‘one of the best players in history’.
The 36-year-old has been a revelation since his Old Trafford comeback. In only 11 games across all competitions, he has scored nine goals and again supplied the goods in a 2-2 Champions League draw at Atalanta.
“We saw it last season. They have one of the best players in history, a guy who can be a scoring machine,” said Guardiola in a press conference.
The Citizens head to Old Trafford for the first Manchester derby of the season without the suspended Aymeric Laporte, while Liam Delap has an ankle injury and Ferran Torres is ruled out.
Right-back Kyle Walker is a doubt after suffering a knock on his foot against Brugge midweek.
Therefore, Guardiola knows it is not going to be easy to get a win against United at Old Trafford.
