AS Roma boss, Jose Mourinho has sent a message to declare his interest to to sign Manchester United academy star Charlie Wellens.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who has been training with United first team, is yet to make his debut for the Red Devils.
The young midfielder also trained with United first team during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign but still remains a regular with United’s Under-23s.
The Sun reports that Mourinho was keen on signing the player while he was at Tottenham.
Mourinho is now looking to sign the midfielder for Roma.
Wellens signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils last year which expires at the end of the season.
The Portuguese coach also wants to sign Arsenal winger, Ainsley Maitland-Niles at the club and the player is on the verge of joining Roma.
According to the reports, Roma are close to reaching an agreement with Arsenal for the 24-year-old.
Roma are looking to sign Maitland-Niles on loan for the remainder of the season and want to include an option to buy next summer for €10 million (£8.4m).
