Manchester United Rivals join the bid to sign Conte

Manchester United rivals Tottenham Hotspur has joined the bid to sign Italian manager Antonio Conte amidst the uncertain future of the present manager Nuno Espirito Santo at White Hart Lane.

Spurs’ manager has faced a widespread criticism for his side’s recent performances which is not quite impressive. In the last game against Manchester United, Tottenham did not register a single shot on target as the lost 0-3 to their rival at home.

Tottenham now sit at the eighth position in the English Premier League table owing to their poor performances under Espirito Santo.

Telegraph has reported that Tottenham are holding crunch discussions over the coach’s future on Sunday evening. As a result, the Portuguese boss could be sacked after only 17 games in charge.

Also, the club has reportedly said via Sky Sport: “We are not on the right track.”

It is not surprising that Tottenham is yet interested in Antonio Conte. Recall that the Italian boss was the favorite to take the job at Spurs after Jose Mourinho’s sack in April. The Spurs’ interest in the former Inter manager might be re-ignited after the potential sacking of Espirito Santo.

According to Tutto Mercato, Tottenham are working hard to bring Conte to north London. However, the Italian coach has also attracted interest from Manchester United, which might complicate the move.

On the other hand, Conte appears to be a manager with pride, who would prefer to stay at home rather than face difficult challenge.
