The Sun has reportedly revealed the top players Man United are likely to sign in the winter window to reinforce the midfield amid the uncertainty over the future of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek.
According to the source, Ralf Rangnick’s first signing at United could be Amadou Haidara, a midfielder from the German’s previous club RB Leipzig.
The 23-year-old has a £32million release clause in his contract with the Bundesliga club.
Also, another player likely to head to Old Trafford in the report is Aston Villa’s John McGinn who was linked to the Red Devils by the same source in 2019.
Back then, the Scotland international was valued at ₤50m but United never made an offer – now, Villa are likely to demand even more for one of their leaders.
In any case, it appears as if Rangnick himself has all but ruled out a big January transfer campaign. That does not mean we won’t see dozens of rumours about United’s transfer activity every week.
