When asked Luke Shaw or Chilwell, who is better?, Mourinho replied: “I think Shaw had a good season. Clearly an evolution in terms of emotion and professionalism.

“But Chilwell has something more, especially with the ball. The way he thinks, he is very calm under pressure. I like Chilwell a lot.”

Chilwell has scored in his last 3 Premier League games and since his return to the Chelsea side, he has arguably been the best left-back in the league.

Meanwhile, Shaw’s United are conceding goals left-right-centre and in the final third, Shaw is not as good as Chilwell. We may not agree with Mourinho’s assessment but it appears that the recent events at Old Trafford is affecting every player’s performance.
