While speaking to Sky Sports, Bayern Munich and Germany icon Lothar Matthaus said: “You see the players who are playing at Manchester United. You have Marcus Rashford, you have Cristiano Ronaldo.
“This means you have two from three and then you have another four players who can play in the third position and one of these three or four players is Jadon Sancho.
“I don’t know how he is training at Man United. He has to work very hard to make this step in the first eleven. Now he’s far away from the first XI.
“When I see how many minutes he was playing this season or which games he was playing. Then I think it was a mistake. Maybe he has more money but he has less games.”
Sancho has featured for just 130 minutes, starting only once for the Red Devils in the last six games.
The Solskjaer is reportedly looking to try the 21-year-old in a new position, intending to play him at wing-back after the international break.
