Newcastle United new owners’ top priority is to get a capable manager who will bring the club back to winning track as the have been dealt with a blow in their hopes of climbing up the Premier League table.

The Italian boss who is currently enjoying a sabbatical would have been the best fit for the job. However, Antonio Conte rejects a fresh deal from Newcastle United as as two big clubs shows interest to bring him back to the Premier League.

With the sack of Steve Bruce, the need to sign a new manager at St James’ Park has become more apparent.

Bruce was in some ways lucky to still be in charge to see his 1000th match as a manager before his replacement was announced.

Former Chelsea boss Conte has been one name linked, with the Italian currently out of work, but he’s apparently already turned the job down.

“Antonio Conte refused a pharaonic offer from Newcastle,” Italian journalist Fabio Santini said, via Area Napoli, explaining the riches that would have been on offer.

“The reason? He is waiting for a call from Manchester United”

Conte is not new to the Premier League for he has previously won the Premier League with Chelsea, as well as four Serie A titles, with Juventus and Inter Milan which indicates that he is a seasoned champion who understands the game quite better than some managers at the moment.
