Chelsea management blown away by Christensen last minute demand

Following a report from reliable Matt Law, Andreas Christensen’s Chelsea future “hinges on whether or not an impasse over the terms and length of his proposed new contract can be broken.”

According to Telegraph, Chelsea believed they had reached an agreement with the defender only for his demands to change at the last minute.

The deal was delayed due to Christensen’s camp wanting to sign a new three-year deal instead of a five-year deal.

The agent and the centre-back ‘have refused to comment’ on the recent development. It is reported that they are not willing to step down from their new stance.

The Blues management think the original agreement of five years should stand and neither side has ‘rushed to compromise’ so far.

Christensen’s deal expires at the end of this season but Chelsea are still hopeful that the contract will be sorted.
